Alfa Spider invents a modern sportiness based on absolute
traction control. Not only that, driving an Alfa Spider
means driving a dream - being able to dominate the road,
to speed through the air.
The 3.2 JTS V6 engine has a permanent Q4 all-wheel drive
system.
A highly advanced drive train ensures dynamic behaviour
of extraordinary quality. A decisive element to be able
to dominate the full power of the 191 kW engine. At
the core of the system we find the mechanical central
differential Twin diff (an evolved version of the TorsenC),
which distributes torque between the front and rear
wheels as a function of grip. In regular riding conditions,
the Q4 accords a slight preference to the rear axle
(57% torque): a solution finetuned by Alfa Romeo engineers
for the most demanding drivers.
The
power of the heart
T he Alfa Romeo engineering team has created two stunning
petrol engines: the 3.2 JTS V6 and the 2.2 JTS. Using
Twin Phaser, a continuous variator for the management
of intake and exhaust valves, and delivering 136 kW
and 191 kW, respectively.
