How advanced something is or appears to be, depends
on how you view it; a key principle Honda’s engineers
considered when designing the new Accord. Where many
see a wider, lower car our engineers see improved aerodynamics
and stability. This is because every aesthetic advance
has a fundamental engineering objective. Take the sleek
lines flowing from the headlights to the wheel arches;
all part of an aerodynamic design that significantly
reduces nose and tail-lift to improve the Accord’s
overall balance.
The new Accord adopts a more emotional, sportier styling
motif compared to the previous model. The new sharp-edged
design gives it a distinctive, strong character with
a solid, planted feel. The significantly wider, lower
and longer proportions, distinctive nose and more flowing
lines deliver a tauter, more athletic shape.
How
do you Engineer Space?
The Accord Tourer gives you a total of 406-litres of
boot space with as much comfort and as many options
as possible. We achieved this by looking at load capacity
as an engineering solution rather than a spatial one.
Each rear seat has been designed to recline smoothly
and slide back for greater leg room and split to allow
for more carrying and seating options. They also fold
down independently using a one-motion mechanism that
creates a completely flat floor. This combination of
effortless comfort and ergonomic design allows you to
concentrate on what’s most important – the
road.
